Mid-terms for Alia

Yes, that title is correct. Alia had mid-term exams in kindergarten. She had exams in science, literacy (reading and writing) and numeracy (math). It was an interesting exercise to observe. Alia never did fully comprehend what was going on. I think she saw it as a form of unusual school work. On one exam she told us that when she didn't know what to do, she just copied from her neighbor. In the end she received good grades on the exams, though I don't think that they seriously count for much. And we certainly aren't going to put any pressure on her to get good grades in kindergarten. I believe one purpose of the exams was to get the children used to taking tests.

She enjoys learning and especially reading. She doesn't always like to write, and spends a lot of time erasing her 'mistakes'. She likes to do it correctly. She also likes swimming at school, where she is now putting her head under the water, so she won't be afraid of it and she can learn to swim. But most of all she enjoys playing with her friends.

Alia loves to laugh. She had just helped Mom to bake a pie.
